THE Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (MECD) has allocated RM20 million to buy or lease business premises to assist budding franchise entrepreneurs in setting up their own business.It has set up a dedicated unit, in state-owned property firm UDA Holdings Bhd, to oversee this activity. Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin said one of the main issues faced by aspiring franchisees is failure to find or afford a suitable location to kick-start their business.
